Sci-fi fans boldly went were no-one had been before for a Star Trek
convention.
For full story and pictures:
Thousands of trekkies converged on the Canadian town of Vulcan,
Alberta, which shares its name with the home planet of Dr Spock.

A group of Klingon fans celebrating the 20th anniversary of their
Klingon Assault Group were among the revellers.
Romulans, Tholians, and Captain Kirk himself also enjoyed the street
festival and masquerade ball.

The Starship FX6-1995-A, a five-tonne statue based on the Enterprise,
stands on the highway through the small Canadian town, honouring its
link with the hit TV series.

The Klingon group, made up of adults and children, are known
throughout Canada for their charity fundraising activities in wacky
space gear.

The town’s tourism co-ordinator Dayna Dickens said: “We’re honoured
the Klingons chose to celebrate their 20th anniversary in Vulcan.”
