undergoing an amputation on his front right leg.

Standing at 42.6 inches tall from paw to shoulder, Gibosn the giant
Harlequin Great Dane lost the leg to cancer this May.

But just seven weeks after the mammoth operation, Gibson’s owner Sandy
Hall is happy to report the spring is firmly back in his his very
large step.

“Gibson is doing just fine,” says 62-year-old Sandy from California.

“I call him my American Express dog because you can’t leave home
without him.”

Born in 2002, Gibson took the title from ‘Harvey’, the previous
World’s Tallest Dog who measured 41 inches, in 2004.

Weighing 180 pounds and measuring 7 feet 1 inch standing on his hind
legs, Gibson works as a therapy and special needs training dog,
visiting care centres and schools throughout the California area.

Gaining world wide attention due to his huge frame he was diagnosed
with bone cancer in his right front paw in April of this year.

Within ten days of his diagnosis, Gibson underwent a seven hour
operation to remove the leg in a bid to prevent the cancer from
spreading further.

Now seven weeks after his operation, Gibson is fighting fit and on the
road to recovery.

However, as Sandy concedes the operation took its toll on the loveable
giant.

“The biggest change that I have seen is his eating issues – he just
doesn’t have an appetite so he was put on an appetite stimulant and
antibiotics,” says Sandy.

“He was getting depressed because wasn’t able to see his clients.

“Gibson is a therapy dog after all – he puts a smile on people’s faces
and when they see him they forget about their problems.

“So four weeks after the operation I said to him, ‘Okay today we are
going to go out and we are not going to ride the couch.’

“We went to the park and saw his clients and had loads of fun.

“He came back tired but he was so happy he was smiling.”

Slowly getting back to full fitness, Gibson is back on his therapy
circuit and undergoing a new fitness regime to build up the muscles in
his front left leg.

“Right after the amputation he was up on his legs and walking around,”
says Sandy.

“He was hopping along – he is what you would call a tripod bur he was
standing quite comfortably.

“The left leg comes right across in the middle and he adapts, hops and
is very close to running at full speed.

“We are doing road work every morning, running three quarters of a
mile and, thankfully, he is getting back to his old self day by day.”

Why not have this fraud put down instead? the leg amputate was ofcourse just a desperate attempt from sandy to make him UNmeasureable, cause she now knows that ppl nowadays have realize what a fraud this is. gibson is nothing more than 38 inches at the withers i can bet my life on it.

So what you are implying Ola…
Is that if I have one leg amputated then I will be shorter and immeasurable?

    Seriously

  • Ola says:

truth hurts? seriously, are we looking at a dog here who’s WAY MORE than 2/3 of 155-160 cm sandy’s height at his withers? yes or no. Because thats what he SHOULD be if he is(was) 43 inches at withers.

again seriously, are we looking at a dog who’s 7′1 when standing upright?! (OMG i didnt know sandy hall was 6′9!)

the answer is: not even close x2

    WAKE UP!

anyway, RIP. he vas just a victim for her million dollar obsession and now she has a new victim: brewster…
