In Florida, Arianne Prevost, an ex-cheerleader, has bagged a 500 pound, 11 foot alligator and managed to make the kill with nothing but a crossbow.

And now the petite mother of one is keen to get the giant alligator’s head mounted on a wall and to get herself a pair of gator boots made.
The budding huntress who is five foot four and weighs 112 pounds was out on her first ever gator hunt on the St John’s River earlier this month.
Hunting at night with her boyfriend, Arianne, 23, took aim when her target came into view from the airboat they were both cruising in.
“It was pitch black and around 8.45pm when I took out the Muzzy Predator crossbow that I shot with,” says ex-dancer Arianne.
“The first shot I fired into the gator’s back and the second went into his neck.
“When I got that first shot in him he started to thrash around, and the guys said then he must be every bit of 11 ft.
“The shots disabled the animal so that I could make the kill shot.”

Approaching the injured beast, Arianne fired the final arrow into the base of the alligator’s skull.
“This is the quickest and simplest way to kill an alligator,” explains Arianne.
“My boyfriend Robert told me to aim at a quarter sized area on the back of the gator’s head and I fired.
“It was very quick.”
Believing the fight was over, Arianne’s boyfriend tried to pin the gator against the boat so they could tape its jaws shut.
However, the gator came to life and started snapping around.
“I had to fire a second arrow into the back of the gator’s head, just to make sure,” explains Arianne.

The pretty all-American girl isn’t all together new to the hunting game.
She grew up stalking deer with her father in Mississippi, but was left unimpressed by Florida’s land based wildlife so didn’t bother to take out her rifle.
Now that she has got her first gator notch up though, Arianne is keen to crack on next year when the hunting licenses are reissued.
“”I’ve got to top this,” says Arianne.
“I can’t let the side down now.”
