Bikini clad girls posing as zombies have become the latest pin up hit.

It is the work of two American artists who have shot blood-spattered babes covered in gory poses for a 2010 Halloween calendar.
It took over six hours to make the undead ladies look like zombies before asking them to strike these provocative poses for camera.

With their zombie women draped over car bonnets, sprawled on white sandy beaches lying in the bath bath, artists Shalaco Sching and Robyn Malter have tried to find a balance between gore and beauty.
“We consulted a lot of people before doing the production design and realised early on that hair, clothing and the garment malfunction were cornerstones of the pin-up.

“We were very conscious about staying true to the ideals of the traditional pin-up by telling a story in each picture while also adding a modern twist,” said 27-year-old Shalaco from San Francisco, California.
Most of the 12 pictures were taken in a studio, but some stunning shots were taken outside in Marin Headlands and on Ocean beach in San Francisco.

Last year the artistic duo sold 1,000 limited edition calendars across the world and hope their latest collection will be even more successful.
“We wanted to make it the best we possibly could, better than anything we had ever done before,” said Shalaco.

“We hired a special make-up artists and brought in a production designer who loves vintage and then took these amazing pictures.”
