Orphan Baby Wombats

Baby wombats Karina and Riley need to be wrapped up warm while they wait for their fur to grow. The adorable marsupials should be snug in their mothers pouches but were orphaned when their mums were killed by motorists near Melbourne, Australia.

Luckily wombat enthusiast and wildlife carer Linda Sauvarin saved the day by extracting the pinkie wombats from their dead mother’s pouches and nursing them to health.

Extraordinary Orangutan Swimming Photos

These incredible pictures of orangutans swimming in an Indonesian
river have left wildlife experts stunned.

Playing on the Rungan River, near to Palas Island on Borneo, these 12
orangutans can be seen swimming and submerging themselves in the muddy
waters.

Rosie the kangaroo’s toothache was so bad that her Australian keepers
called in a top human orthodontist to save the day (26/05/09).

The sickly marsupial had been suffering for six months with an abscess
and huge oral fissure and her keepers at the Healesville Sanctuary in
Victoria, were worried she might die.

Cute Gorilla saved in the Congo

A DISTRESSED baby gorilla was rescued from wildlife smugglers in a
bust at a Congo airport on Sunday (26.04.09).

The Congolese Wildlife Authority seized the gorilla from smugglers
following a dangerous 3-month undercover investigation to expose an
international wildlife smuggling ring.
